The Randolph Playhouse and the Bethel Revitalization Initiative invite you to attend and promote your organization at a free screening of the film “Join or Die.” The screening will be Sunday, February 9th at 2pm at the Randolph Playhouse.

“Join or Die” is a film about why you should join a club — and why the fate of America
depends on it. Follow the half-century story of America’s civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking “Bowling Alone” research into America’s decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy’s present crisis. As the unraveling of our social fabric has accelerated in the past decade, the public is searching for fundamental explanations of our civic decline: Why don’t our politics or government work? Why can’t we see eye-to-eye with our neighbors? What accounts for the gap between the empowered few and the disempowered many? And, most importantly… What can we do about it?

On February 9th, the Playhouse will have a free screening of the movie sponsored by the BRI. We will have tables set up with information from local groups and clubs interested in recruiting.

We invite you to bring information for a table display (it can be simple, like a flyer with information about your group) and after the film, to stand near your display and talk with potential recruits.

Please contact Julie Hinman juliehinman@gmail.com if you are interested in joining us on February 9th. We hope to see you there!
